Law Abiding Citizen - SPOILERS

Cast:  Jamie Foxx (Nick Rice), Gerard Butler (Clyde Shelton), Colm Meaney (Detective Dunnigan), Bruce McGill (Jonas Cantrell), Leslie Bibb (Sarah Lowell), Michael Irby (Detective Sean Garza)

The movie starts with 2 bad guys who break into Clyde's home, and they stab him and kill his wife and child.  We don't actually see the killings.  One of the guys gets the death penalty, and the other is sentenced to a short prison sentence.  That was due to a deal that Nick set up.  This enrages Clyde, and he would spend the next 10 years preparing for revenge and justice.

When the bad guy is let out of prison, Clyde captures him and takes him to a warehouse to torture him.  He ties him down to a table, and cuts all his limbs off.  We see him prepare to do this, but don't actually see him cut up the body.  In a later scene we see the dead body with is limbs and head separated and lots of blood.

Clyde lets himself get captured and confesses to the killing, but only after he is met some demands, like asking for a new bed mattress.  Once he's in a cell, he request a nice steak dinner for information leading to the whereabouts of a missing lawyer -- the lawyer that got the bad guy off with a short prison sentence.  Clyde got his dinner, but a few minutes later than he requested, so by the time the police found the lawyer, he was dead in a hole in the ground.  He would have survived had they got there a few minutes earlier, as he would hooked up to oxygen on a timer than ran out.  The polices failure to meet Clydes demands led to the lawyers death.

Meanwhile, Clyde kills his cell mate, and he is sent to solitary confinement.  Next, Clyde ask Nick for another deal, to be let out of prison.  If not, people will die.  They ignore his request, and people from the law firm died as many of their cars were rigged up to explode.  Nick gets some inside information on Clyde from someone who knows him, and they discover Clyde owns a warehouse near the prison.  Clyde for the past 10 years had dug a tunnel to the prison allowing him now to leave his cell as he pleases.  Nick and the police discover these tunnels and catch on to Clydes next move.

In the end, Nick is waiting for Clyde to return back to his cell, and they have their little speeches about lessons learned, and why Clyde did all he did.  His point was that you don't make deals with a murderer.  Now Clyde is the murderer, and Nick refuses to make deals with him now for that fact.  Clyde seems pleased with all this.  The only problem is, Nick left a bomb in his cell, a bomb that Clyde had made, and leaves the cell as it blows up.  Clyde is dead.
