Salt - SPOILERS

CIA Agent Evelyn Salt (Angelina Jolie) is actually a Russian spy, having been recruited and trained as a child.
Her cover is exposed on what is the start of Day X where two events are planned. The first is the killing of the Russian President which will look like the CIA did it and Salt appears to successfully done it. The second is the stealing of the USA Atomic weapon controls from the U.S. President and launching an attack on Tehran and Mecca.

While Salt is on the run, we aren't sure if she is the bad guy or not.  She has a husband that she is trying to reach, and we are lead to believe she needs to find him and protect him now that her cover is blown.  She has many narrow escapes as the CIA is trying to capture her.  She finds her way back to her old Russian trainers and fellow recruited students who have her husband held prisoner.  She needs to convince the Russians she is still on their side, and they test her loyalty by killing her husband in front of her.  She doesn't flinch to satisfy them, but ends up killing them all when their guard is down.

At the moment they are about to launch the nuclear attack she discovers that her CIA partner, Ted Winter (Liev Schreiber) is also a mole for the Russians and she stops him from launching the missiles but she is shot in the process. Ted looks like the hero because his cover wasn't blown.  She isn't dead however and as she is being led away she kills Ted by choking him with some sort of belt in a cool maneuver.

While being flown away she convinces the head CIA agent that she is actually one of the good guys who just saved the world and lets him know there are many more moles out there. He implies that he believes her but nobody else will so he unlocks her handcuffs and lets her escape as she jumps out of the chopper, into the river.

The film ends as she is running through the woods as we assume she is going to kill the enemies..
