Black Swan - SPOILERS

We have Nina, (Natalie Portman) who is supposedly a late 20-something ballet dancer who is still living with her mother, who is quite psychotic, still treating her like a little girl, dressing her up and always petting her.  We get the impression the mother was once a dancer who had to give up her career probably because she got pregnant with Nina.

Nina is chosen for the lead role as the Swan Queen for the Swan Lake Story.  The part plays a duel role, that of the White Swan, and the Black Swan.  Of course the White Swan is the virginal and innocent type girl, who Nina is perfect for, But then you have the Black Swan that is seductive, manipulative, and a sensual woman, which is a stretch for Nina.

We have the directory of Swan Lake who is a real jerk and ego maniac who keeps telling Nina  she is perfect for the White Swan part of it, but needs to let lose of herself to get into the Black Swan part, and he suggest she goes home and play with herself, masturbate.  That's his advice to get her more to the dark side.  He even pretends to seduce her into feeling "hot", then pulling back, making a statement about that's how you be seductive.

Now Nina has a rival, a new young woman, Lilli, who is more suited to play the Black Swan role, as she has all the negative qualities that make a naughty girl.  They start hanging out, and this new bad girl tries to get Nina to behave in bad ways, like going to bars to pick up guys, doing drugs and getting drunk.  This will cause real tension with her mother, as she is overly protective of her "little" girl.

There is a big spoiler scene that takes place in Nina's dressing room the night of the big performance.  This comes after a couple days of nutty behavior, lack of sleep, hallucinating, and just her battling her dark side.  She thinks someone in her dressing room is trying to kill her.  At times it appears as it is herself, as her dark side revealing itself, and other times as Lilli, the new bad girl.  As she is battling with this other figure, she breaks a mirror and takes a piece of it to stab this other person, and at this point we are lead to believe its her rival girl friend Lilli, and tat she is dead now.  So she drags her into a closet and we see blood coming under the door, so Nina grabs a towel to put under the door to stop the flow of blood.  Nina then goes to perform in the show.

After when she comes back to the dressing room, we see there is no blood on the floor, and the closet is empty.  We can conclude it was herself she stabbed as we see the big blood stain on her dress.  She goes out to perform the last act, and we see her wound in her stomach worsen as she performs, and after nailing the dance scenes, the final part has her leaping in the air to her death, as in the story, and now as we are lead to believe in actual life, as she just lays there with the audience clapping, and she states how perfect it all was, and we assume she dies.
